What: This is a strategy that allows students to dig deeper by focusing on one skill, craft or standard.

Who: all grade levels and content areas

When: You would use this strategy when you want students to read closely with a specific goal in mind

How:

- pick a skill

- select a selection

- determine how students will get back in text multiple times (use prompts)

Note: students should read with a pencil, choose a passage or several not an entire book
