Draw A Picture (DAP)
What: This is a projective personality test with a high subject-interest factor.
Who: This is for any and all ages.
When: You would use this when you want to learn more about the individual in order to assess for learning and/or behavior challenges.
Instructions:
Give several sheets of whute paper and pencil.
Tell the individual, "I want you to draw a person. Do the best you can."
Once drawing is complete, ask individual to draw a person of the opposite gender.
During analysis: What would that figure do if it were to come alive? Would it crumble? Cry? Be angry? Be happy? Run away?
NOTE: Say draw a person, not a man or woman. If individual begins to draw a stick figure, let him/her finih but then ask for a full figure person. Answer any questions wwith, "Do the best you can."
